Urosa 100mg Tablet contains torasemide and is used to treat high blood pressure and edema. This medicine is a loop diuretic (water pill) that makes the kidneys excrete more water and sodium chloride from the body. It is also prescribed for fluid overload due to heart failure, cirrhosis or nephrotic syndrome.

Urosa 100mg Tablet should be taken as advised by your doctor. It is best to take them as a whole before or after food. Depending on your medical condition, you might be prescribed this medicine in combination with our drugs. Note that it makes you urinate more often, so avoid taking it within 4 hours of bedtime. Urosa 100mg Tablet may be contraindicated (unsafe) for people with hyponatremia (low sodium in the blood), hypotension (low blood pressure), kidney disease, decreased or no urine output, electrolyte imbalance, hepatic encephalopathy and hypersensitivity (allergy) to loop diuretic such as furosemide, bumetanide, or torsemide. Urosa 100mg Tablet works to reduce hypertension (high blood pressure) and edema by telling the kidneys to pass more water and sodium through the urine. This reduces swelling and excess fluid build-ups in organs. When water levels decrease, the blood volume flowing through the veins and arteries lowers, resulting in lower blood pressure.

The main ingredient of Urosa 100mg Tablet is torasemide. It is a high-efficacy, high-ceiling loop diuretic. It is a sulfonamide derivative which increases diuresis and decreases blood pressure by promoting the excretion of water and sodium from the kidneys.

This medicine works by reversibly and competitively inhibiting the sodium and potassium transporters in a specific part of the kidney called the ascending limb of Henle's loop. This results in the increased excretion of sodium, potassium and chlorine along with water. When more water is passed through urine, the blood plasma volume decreases. This lowers the amount of blood the heart pumps, in turn lowering blood pressure.
