Siprid MPS 10mg/125mg Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (Acid reflux) by relieving symptoms such as heartburn, indigestion, stomach pain, or irritation. It also promotes easy passage of gas to reduce stomach discomfort.

Siprid MPS 10mg/125mg Tablet is taken without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, runny nose, and headache. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any side effects. Lifestyle modifications like having cold milk and avoiding hot tea, coffee, spicy food or chocolate can help you to get better results.

Think about what foods trigger heartburn and try to avoid them; eat smaller, more frequent meals; try to lose weight if you are overweight and try to find ways to relax. Do not eat within 3-4 hours of going to bed.

Siprid MPS 10mg/125mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Cisapride and Methylpolysiloxane. Cisapride is a prokinetic which facilitates the movement of intestines, thereby increasing the frequency of bowel movements, softening stools, and reducing abdominal pain/discomfort. Methylpolysiloxane is an antifoaming medicine which disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas.

• Siprid MPS 10mg/125mg Tablet is prescribed to get relief from acidity, heartburn and other discomfort associated with acid reflux.

• Avoid taking soft drinks, citrus fruits like orange and lemon, which can irritate the stomach and increase acid secretion.

• Do not take other indigestion remedies (antacids) without consulting your doctor.

• Incorporate the following lifestyle changes in order to prevent acidity:

  1. Make sure you eat regular meals and drink plenty of water.
  2. Avoid spicy and fatty fried food.
  3. Lose weight if you are obese.
  4. If you are a smoker, consider giving up.
  5. Don't drink too much alcohol.
  6. Do not go to bed immediately after taking a meal. Sit in a relaxed position for some time for better digestion.
