Pychlor Dexa Eye Ointment is a combination of three medicines. It is used in treating bacterial infections of the eyes. It kills the bacteria that cause infection. It also relieves pain, itching, discomfort, and irritation.

Pychlor Dexa Eye Ointment is strictly advised to be used only in the eyes. Use it in the prescribed dose and duration. Apply it only to the affected eyes. You must wash your hand before administering the medicine. Do not use it more than the recommended dose. The medicine should not be stopped suddenly without a doctor's consultation.

It is generally safe, but it may sometimes cause discomfort, irritation, and burning sensation in the eyes. These effects are mild and go away in some time. However, if these effects persist, you should consult the doctor immediately.

However, make sure to complete the full course of treatment. This will ensure that the infection is completely cured and prevent it from returning.

Pychlor Dexa Eye Ointment is a combination of two antibiotics (Chloramphenicol, Polymyxin B) and a steroid (Dexamethasone). The antibiotics work by killing the bacteria or stopping their growth. Together, they treat your eye infection effectively. The steroid blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen and itchy.

• You have been prescribed Pychlor Dexa Eye Ointment for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye.
• Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
• Do not use Pychlor Dexa Eye Ointment for more than the prescribed duration as it may cause glaucoma or secondary infection.
• Do not touch the tip to any surface, or to your eye, to avoid contamination.
• Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up.
• Throw away any medicine left at the end of the 5 day course.
