Introduction To Otomet Ear Drop
Otomet Ear Drop is a medicine used to treat ear infections. It works by killing and inhibiting the growth of microorganisms in the ear. This relieves discomfort, itching, irritation, and pain in the ear.
Otomet Ear Drop is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. This medicine should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. How Otomet Ear Drop works
Otomet Ear Drop is a combination of four medicines: Lidocaine, Beclometasone, Clotrimazole and Gentamicin which treat ear infections. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain thereby decreasing the sensation of pain. Beclometasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the ear red, swollen and itchy after an allergy or infection. Clotrimazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Gentamicin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins, required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
