Introduction To Orasep-LA Gel

Orasep-LA Gel is used in the treatment of mouth ulcers. It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. It also blocks the transmission of pain signals to the brain to lower pain perception.

Orasep-LA Gel should be used strictly as advised by your doctor. Use it in the dose and duration as directed by your doctor. You should not use more quantity or more often than prescribed by your doctor. This will not make it work any faster rather increase the chance of side effects.

It is usually safe with little or no side effects. However, it may cause burning or stinging sensation immediately after use. These are temporary and usually resolve with time. If they do not get better with time or worsen, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the side effects.

Before using the medicine, it is important to tell your doctor if you are using or have recently used any other medicines for the same condition or other diseases. To make sure the medicine is safe, pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using the medicine.

Orasep-LA Gel is a treatment for fast, effective relief of pain from mouth ulcers. It stops pain by producing a feeling of numbness at the site of application. It also promotes healing of the ulcers and prevents infection. Altogether, it gives you relief from the discomfort associated with mouth ulcers. It is advisable to reapply Orasep-LA Gel after every 3-4 hours for better results. Avoid having hot food and drinks after applying Orasep-LA Gel as the numbing effect could burn your mouth.

How Orasep-LA Gel works

Orasep-LA Gel is a combination of two medicines: Lidocaine and Tannic Acid. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic. It works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain which decreases sensation of pain. Tannic Acid is an astringent which works by forming a protective layer on the affected area while exerting antiviral and antibacterial effects.

  • Avoid eating and drinking immediately after applying Orasep-LA Gel.
  • Avoid putting dentures back in the mouth for half an hour after applying the gel in your mouth.
  • Use a soft toothbrush after consulting your dentist.
  • Avoid spicy foods, acidic fruit drinks, and very salty foods (such as crisps) which can make the pain and sting worse.
  • Do not smoke while using Orasep-LA Gel as it might cause some side effects.
  • Consult your doctor if your pain does not improve after using this medication for 7-14 days, or if your symptoms get worse.
