NT Spas Tablet is commonly given to treat abdominal pain in children. It relieves the pain by relaxing the muscles of the stomach. It also blocks the action of certain chemical messengers that can cause pain and fever.

Give NT Spas Tablet to your child at a fixed time either before or after food. If your child develops a stomach upset, it is best to give this medicine with food. It is usually given four times a day. However, this may vary based on your child's clinical condition, body weight, and age. It is most likely that the doctor will start with a low dose of NT Spas Tablet and gradually increase the dose. Stick to the dose, time, and way as prescribed. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, give the same dose again, but skip it if it is already time for the next dose.

NT Spas Tablet can cause some minor and temporary side effects like nausea, dry mouth, blurred vision, weakness, and nervousness. Usually, these episodes subside once your child's body adapts to the medicine. However, in case these effects persist or start bothering your child, consult your child's doctor without any delay.

Let your child's doctor know if your child is already taking any medicines. Also, narrate your child's complete medical history, including any prior episodes of allergy, heart problem, blood disorder, vascular disorders, birth defects, airway obstruction, lung anomaly, skin disorder, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. This information is critical for dose alterations and in planning your child's overall treatment.

It also blocks chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain sensation. This helps to treat abdominal pain (or stomach pain) as well as cramps, bloating, and discomfort. Take NT Spas Tablet as prescribed to get maximum benefit. Eventually, it will help you to go about your daily activities more easily and have a more active and better quality of life.

NT Spas Tablet does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. Consult your child’s doctor if these side effects persist or bother your child. The most common side effects include-

NT Spas Tablet is a combination of two medicines: dicyclomine and paracetamol, which relieves abdominal pain and cramps. Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic that relaxes the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms), thereby relieving cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) that works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain.

• Do not give NT Spas Tablet to infants who are less than 6 months of age.

• Do not give NT Spas Tablet with antacids as they can decrease its absorption.

• Taking frequent sips of water may help if dry mouth occurs with the use of NT Spas Tablet.

• Rule out the psychological causes of abdominal pain in children before giving NT Spas Tablet.

• Do not practice self-medication. Never give any stomach pain medicine to your child without consulting a doctor.

• Never give the medicines meant for adults to children as they can be harmful for your child.

• Give NT Spas Tablet for whom it is prescribed. Do not share the medicine as it can do harm.

• Some self-care tips:

  1. Divide your child’s meal into proportions. Give an easily digestible meal to your child.
  2. You may place a hot water bottle on your child’s abdomen during pain.
  3. Avoid giving caffeinated foods such as coffee, chocolates to your child as these can trigger the pain.
