Medsil Cream

Medsil Cream is a combination medicine used to treat burns and wound infection. It moisturizes and relieves minor skin irritations by forming a protective layer on the skin. It works by stopping the growth of microorganisms and killing the existing ones that cause the infection.

Medsil Cream is for external use only. You should use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. This medicine should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. Do not use more than you need as it will not clear your condition faster and some side effects may be increased. If your condition goes on for longer than four weeks or gets worse at any time, let your doctor know. The effects of medicine can be increased by keeping the affected area clean and dry, and washing hands before and after treating the infection.

The medicine is generally safe to use with no common side effects. Inform your doctor if you experience skin irritation, redness or itching at the site of application. Avoid direct contact with eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. It is not likely that other medicines you take by mouth or injection will affect the way it works but talk to your doctor before using it if you have used a similar medicine before and had an allergic reaction. This medicine should only be used if it is clearly needed during pregnancy.

Treatment of Burns
Medsil Cream helps in the prevention and treatment of infections in patients with burns. It kills the infectious microorganisms, reduces burning sensation, irritation, and pain in the affected area. This promotes quick healing of the burns. Apply to the affected areas one or two times a day. Continue using it as directed by the doctor to get maximum benefit.

Treatment of Wound infection
Medsil Cream is an antiseptic that is used for the treatment and prevention of wound infection. It may be used in first aid for minor cuts, burns, abrasions, ulcers, and blisters. It kills and prevents the growth of infection-causing microbes as well as helps in wound healing. Medsil Cream also moisturizes and relieves any irritation in the wound area. Keep the affected area clean and use the medicine as prescribed by your doctor for better results.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Medsil Cream is a combination of four medicines. Silver Sulfadiazine is an antibiotic. It stops the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is an antiseptic. It works by killing harmful microorganisms and cleans the affected area. Aloe Vera is a plant. Its extracts form a protective layer on the skin by restoring moisture, so that it feels hydrated and refreshed. Allantoin is a skin protectant that works as a moisturizer and relieves minor skin irritations.

• Clean the affected area and then apply the cream to using a sterile gloved hand or a sterile spatula.
• Apply it once or twice daily and re-apply to any areas from which it gets removed due to activity. Burn areas should be covered with the cream at all times.
• It may cause minor burning, stinging or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away.
• Avoid contact with your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas.
