How Lycalamine Lotion works
Lycalamine Lotion is a combination of two astringents (Calamine and Camphor) and an antiallergic (Diphenhydramine). The astringents work by imparting a cooling sensation on the skin to relieve minor skin irritation. The antiallergic works by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger (histamine), thereby relieving symptoms of skin allergy.

- Lycalamine Lotion is used to treat itching and skin irritation due to allergies.
- Before you applythis medicine, wash the skin with a mild soap (preferably non -scented) and water. Allow the skin to dry completely.
- Apply Lycalamine Lotion directly to the skin and rub in gently. You may also use a cotton ball to smooth the medicine onto your skin. Wash your hands after applying.
- Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by the doctor. Allow the medicine to dry on its own.
