Introduction To Ketin Eye Drop

Ketin Eye Drop is a medication that provides relief from moderate to severe pain. It contains a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) called ketorolac tromethamine that functions by blocking the production of certain natural substances causing inflammation, thereby reducing swelling, pain, or fever.

Ketin Eye Drop should be administered as directed by your healthcare provider. The dosage may be tailored to your level of pain. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not chew. It can be taken with or without food, but it’s recommended to take it with food, milk, or an antacid to minimize side effects.

Common short-term side effects of Ketin Eye Drop include stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, gas, dizziness, or drowsiness. These effects are usually temporary and should not cause alarm. However, if you notice symptoms such as a rash or difficulty breathing, contact your healthcare provider immediately.

Ketin Eye Drop is contraindicated for individuals with a history of heart disease, stroke, ulcer disease, bleeding in the stomach or intestines, and allergies to NSAIDs. It’s also unsafe for those with kidney or liver disease, and those who are dehydrated. Always seek medical advice before taking the medicine, informing your doctor about your medical conditions and current medications. While generally safe for short-term use in many people, it’s crucial to use Ketin Eye Drop as directed by your healthcare provider to minimize the risk of serious side effects.

How Ketin Eye Drop works

Ketin Eye Drop works by reducing pain and inflammation in the body. It contains ketorolac tromethamine which is a type of medicine known as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It does this by blocking the production of certain natural substances in your body that cause inflammation. This helps to decrease swelling, pain, or fever. The pain-relieving effect of Ketorolac usually occurs within 2 to 3 hours of taking it. The medicine is absorbed into your body quickly and completely after you take it, and it is then broken down by your liver and removed from your body through your kidneys.

The exact way Ketin Eye Drop works is not fully understood, but it is believed to be related to its ability to inhibit a specific enzyme involved in the production of prostaglandins, which are compounds in the body that cause inflammation and pain. Ketorolac is a strong anti-inflammatory agent compared to other NSAIDs like ibuprofen and diclofenac.

Dosage

Ketin Eye Drop should be administered as directed by your healthcare provider. The dosage may be tailored to your level of pain. It can be taken with or without food, but it’s recommended to take it with food, milk, or an antacid to minimize side effects. When starting Ketin Eye Drop treatment, you'll receive an injection first (either IV or IM) instead of taking the oral form. Make sure to use the lowest effective dose to manage your pain and avoid taking doses more often than every 4 to 6 hours. Remember, the total treatment time, including both injection and oral doses, shouldn't exceed 5 days For adults between 17 and 64 years old, the recommended starting dosage of Ketorolac is a single 20 mg dose taken orally. Subsequently, a 10 mg dose can be taken every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain relief, but the total daily dosage should not exceed 40 mg. For adults aged 65 and above, those with kidney impairment, and those weighing less than 50 kg (110 lbs), the starting dose is 10 mg taken orally. This can be followed by 10 mg doses every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain, but again, the total daily dosage should not exceed 40 mg. If you forget to take this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, ignore the one that you missed and continue with the next. Do not take twice the amount to compensate for a missed dose.

Safety Advice

Ketin Eye Drop is unsuitable for individuals with heart disease, stroke, ulcers, stomach/intestinal bleeding, NSAID allergies, kidney/liver issues, or dehydration. Use it cautiously and follow your doctor's advice, limiting use to 5 days only due to the risk of heart attack, stroke, and fatal bleeding, especially in older adults. Long-term use against medical advice is prohibited.
