How Imulast 200mg Tablet works
Imulast 200mg Tablet contains hydroxychloroquine, an antirheumatic, antimalarial, immunomodulatory drug that treats several conditions by suppressing the immune system, increasing insulin sensitivity and killing malaria-causing parasites.
It treats rheumatic diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis by blocking the production and release of certain chemical substances that produce pain and inflammation in tissues.
It treats and prevents malaria infections by interfering with the function of the parasites' digestive vacuole, which reduces toxic heme products from their cells. This buildup of soluble heme causes toxicity and, ultimately, the cell death of the parasites.
It is used in the management of diabetes since it increases insulin sensitivity, improves glycemic control and lowers the level of a form of haemoglobin called glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) and blood sugar level.
