It works by reducing inflammation in the tissue and blocking pain signals in the nervous system. This oral medicine alleviates mild-moderate pain and lowers body temperature. This combination is also prescribed to treat inflammations and (rarely) juvenile arthritis.
Ibuzit-P Oral Suspension should be given to your child as advised by your doctor. The dosage may be adjusted depending on the level of pain.. It is best to drink this oral medicine after having food to avoid stomach discomfort. To prevent adverse effects, take it as per your doctor’s prescription.
Side effects of Ibuzit-P Oral Suspension include stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, heartburn, drowsiness and loss of appetite. They typically last for a short period and should not be of any concern.
Ibuzit-P Oral Suspension is contraindicated (unsafe) for children with a history of stomach ulcers, liver diseases or allergies to either ibuprofen or paracetamol. Always let your doctor know of any health conditions your child might have. Generally, this combination drug is considered safe for most people.
Uses of Ibuzit-P Oral Suspension
Ibuzit-P Oral Suspension is a combination pain medication used to treat mild-moderate pain and fever in children. It also helps alleviate all kinds of general discomfort, including dental pain, ear pain and headaches. This medication is also prescribed in cases of joint pain and disorders like arthritis.
Ibuzit-P Oral Suspension consists of 2 active ingredients: ibuprofen, a non-selective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and paracetamol, a non-narcotic analgesic-antipyretic agent.
They act as analgesics (pain killers), antipyretics (medicines that lower body temperature) and anti-inflammatory drugs by inhibiting pain signals in our nervous system and reducing inflammation in our tissue.
Adults can take this medication even though it is indicated for children and infants. Adults of any age can use this combination of ibuprofen and paracetamol to reduce a variety of symptoms like joint pain, migraines, menstrual cramps, dental/ear pain and muscle strain.
How Ibuzit-P Oral Suspension works
Ibuzit-P Oral Suspension contains ibuprofen and paracetamol, it works by blocking COX enzymes in our body that produce a chemical substance responsible for pain, fever and inflammation.
Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) medicine which, as the name suggests, means it is not a steroid, and it reduces inflammations (and the pain that follows)
It does three things in our body: it lowers pain, reduces inflammation and stops your temperature from increasing. It targets natural chemicals called cyclo-oxygenase enzymes or COX enzymes in short. Aceclofenac blocks the effect of these COX enzymes and prevents them from producing a substance called prostaglandins. Thus the inhibition of cyclooxygenase-mediated prostaglandins occurs.
Prostaglandins are chemical substances related to pain. They are made at the site of injury or inflammation. When they are blocked or inhibited by medicines like aceclofenac or paracetamol, the pain sensation is reduced.
Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen, is a non-narcotic analgesic-antipyretic agent. It means it reduces both pain and fever. It is believed to work by preventing the production of prostaglandins. When compared to Ibuprofen, however, it is a weak anti-inflammatory agent.
Combined, ibuprofen and paracetamol in Ibuzit-P Oral Suspension inhibit all cyclooxygenase-mediated prostaglandins allowing them to offer a superior pain-relieving and antipyretic effect.
Dosage
Always take Ibuzit-P Oral Suspension medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Do not consume more than the prescribed dose. Before using, shake the bottle well. Measure the medicine using the measuring cup provided with the cap. Take this medicine after food to reduce the chances of stomach upset. Side effects like sleepiness/drowsiness are common.
Take any missed medication as soon as you recall if you have missed a dose. If it is time for your next dose, ignore the missed dose and continue with the next one. To compensate for a missed dose, avoid taking twice the amount.
Taking more than the prescribed dose of Ibuzit-P Oral Suspension over a long period may lead to overdose and acetaminophen intoxication. It is a serious condition in which too much paracetamol is in your body, leading to hepatotoxicity (acute hepatic necrosis) and rarely renal tubular necrosis.
If you experience signs like a change in the urine colour, severe abdominal pain or any allergic reactions like rash and itching, you may contact your doctor or visit the nearest hospital.
