Dysentery or amoebic dysentery is a parasitic infection of the intestines that occurs mostly due to intake of contaminated food or water. The symptoms include loose stools (diarrhea), stomach cramps and stomach pain. Fumedil Capsule helps to treat this infection by killing the infection causing parasites. It relieves these symptoms and also helps you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. You need to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

Fumedil Capsule is a combination of three medicines: furazolidone, metronidazole and dicyclomine which treats diarrhea. Furazolidone and metronidazole are antibiotics which works by stopping the growth of bacteria and other diarrhea causing microorganisms. Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic which works by relaxing the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). • Take it at the same time every day to help you remember to take it.
• Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
• It may cause dizziness. Don't drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how Fumedil Capsule affects you.
• Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
• It is advisable to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water to overcome medicine side effects.
