Famochew Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of acidity. It helps in relieving the symptoms of acidity such as heartburn, stomach pain or irritation. It also neutralizes excessive acid in the stomach and helps in easy passage of gas.

Famochew Tablet is taken without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. Do not take it for more than the recommended duration as long-term administration may have harmful effects on the health.

The most common side effects are diarrhea, constipation, headache, and fatigue. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. This medicine may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn. Calcium and Magnesium work by neutralizing the excess acid in stomach.

• You have been prescribed Famochew Tablet to get relief from acidity and heartburn.

• Avoid taking any antacid at least 2 hours before or after taking Famochew Tablet.

• Incorporate the folowing lifestyle changes in order to prevent acidity and heartburn:

  1. Make sure you eat regular meals and drink plenty of water.
  2. Avoid spicy and fatty fried food.
  3. Lose weight if you are obese.
  4. If you are a smoker, consider giving up.
  5. Don't drink too much alcohol.
  6. Do not go to bed immediately after taking a meal. Sit in a relaxed position for some time for better digestion.
