Introduction To Ducira Gel

Ducira Gel is a combination of medicines that is used to treat dry eyes. It relieves the symptoms of dry eyes such as pain, discomfort and irritation. It also provides lubrication to the eyes and helps in maintaining the moisture of the eyes.

Ducira Gel is to be used only in the affected eye in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Wash your hands before using this medicine. It is advised to check the label for directions before use. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.

The most common side effects include blurring of vision at the application site. If this side effect persists for a longer duration, inform your doctor. In case by accident, this medicine goes into your ears, nose or mouth, immediately rinse it with water.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or are allergic to this medicine or taking any other medication. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery after use of this medicine as it may cause blurring of vision and may affect your ability to drive.

It can be caused by sitting in front of the computer for a long time, certain medications or environmental conditions. Ducira Gel adds moisture to your eyes and keeps them lubricated. This gives relief from irritation and burning sensation due to dryness of the eyes. If you wear soft contact lenses, you should remove them before applying Ducira Gel.

How to use Ducira Gel

This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.

How Ducira Gel works

Ducira Gel is a combination of two medicines: Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose and sodium perborate monohydrate which treat dry eyes. Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a lubricating medicine similar to normal tears. It provides temporary relief of burning and discomfort due to dryness of the eye. sodium perborate monohydrate is an antiseptic.

Quick tips

  • Your doctor has prescribed Ducira Gel to reduce dryness in the eyes.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after putting the medication. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
  • Make sure to use it within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
  • Try to keep your environment less dry by reducing excessive use of room heaters or using a humidifier.
  • Wear glasses or sunglasses to protect your eyes from wind and dust when out in a hot, dry climate.
  • Rest your eyes by taking regular breaks if you spend long periods in front of a screen.
