How Dipsalic 2% Ointment works

Dipsalic 2% Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Betamethasone and Salicylic Acid which treat eczema and psoriasis. Betamethasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic medicine which breaks down keratin clumps, removes dead skin cells and softens the skin. It also enhances the absorption of Betamethasone into the skin.

Quick tips

  • Dipsalic 2% Ointment is used to treat the redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with psoriasis and eczema.
  • It is advisable to apply it once a day. For best effect, leave it on during the day if you have applied it in the morning, or overnight if you have used it in the evening.
  • Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.
