Breaze 5mg Tablet

Breaze 5mg Tablet is used to prevent asthma attacks in children. It may also be used to ease breathing difficulties caused by strenuous physical activities. This medicine also helps treat symptoms of skin and seasonal allergies such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes.

Give Breaze 5mg Tablet to your child at a fixed time before or after food in the prescribed dose, time, and way. You may need to give it to your child for a few weeks before it starts to prevent asthma attacks. For asthma, prefer giving Breaze 5mg Tablet in the evening or 2 hours before physical activity. For allergy, it is best to give it in the evening, depending upon the time of onset of symptoms. In case your child has both, prefer giving it in the evening. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, give the same dose again, but skip it if it's already time for the next dose.

Your child may start to feel better after a few regular doses. However, you must still complete the prescribed dose to ensure maximum benefit. Moreover, stopping the medicine abruptly may worsen your child's condition. This medicine may cause some minor and temporary side effects like fever, headache, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Usually, these episodes subside once your child's body adapts to the medicine. However, in case these effects persist or start bothering your child, consult your child's doctor without any delay.

Let your child's doctor know if your child is already taking any medicines. Also, narrate your child's complete medical history, including any prior episodes of allergy, heart problem, blood disorder, vascular disorders, birth defects, airway obstruction, lung anomaly, skin disorder, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. This information is critical for dose alterations and in planning your child's overall treatment.

Treatment of Allergic skin conditions
Breaze 5mg Tablet is effective in treating allergic skin conditions with inflammation and itching such as urticaria. It works by reducing the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation of the skin. It reduces the redness, rash, pain, or itchiness caused by the skin’s reaction to an irritant.

Treatment of Sneezing and runny nose due to allergies
Breaze 5mg Tablet provides relief from symptoms such as blocked or runny nose, sneezing and itchy or watery eyes. This will make it easier for you to go about your daily activities. It rarely has any serious side effects and you may only need to take it on days you have symptoms. If you are taking it to prevent getting symptoms you should use it regularly to get the most benefit.

Breaze 5mg Tablet does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. Consult your child’s doctor if these side effects persist or bother your child. The most common side effects include-

• Abdominal pain

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not handle the strips/film with wet hands. Keep it in your mouth but do not swallow it. Breaze 5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Breaze 5mg Tablet is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking a chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.

• Breaze 5mg Tablet helps prevent asthma attacks. Never use it to stop an attack that has already started, as the medicine may not work for such cases.

• Make sure you keep all other rescue medicines handy for your child in case of any respiratory distress.

• If your child is taking inhaled corticosteroids, taper down the dose gradually only after the advice of the doctor.

• Never increase or decrease the dose of Breaze 5mg Tablet on your own as it can harm your child.

• Never combine Breaze 5mg Tablet with other cold and flu medicines as that may cause some side effects.

• If you are giving Breaze 5mg Tablet to your child for asthma or allergy, you need not give another dose to prevent exercise-induced breathing problems. In case of any confusion, consult your child’s doctor as soon as possible.

• Make sure that you always have enough medicine.

• Never give medicines meant for adults to children as they can harm.

• Practice self-care tips:

  1. Abstain your child from coming in contact with allergens.
  2. Encourage your child to wear a face mask and avoid dusty places.
  3. Give plenty of fluids to your child as that helps in thinning and loosening the mucus in the lungs.
