Altime CF Syrup

Altime CF Syrup is given to children to treat dry cough. It also helps relieve symptoms of common cold and allergy such as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and congestion or stuffiness.

Give this medicine to your child by mouth with or without food. It is preferred to give this medicine with food to avoid stomach upset. Always remember that the dosing schedule provided by your child's doctor depends on the type of symptoms your child has, so make sure to follow the prescribed dose, time, and way strictly.

Give Altime CF Syrup at a fixed time each day so that it gradually makes a place in your child's daily routine, which will help you to remember. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine give the same dose again. However, never repeat the dose if it's already time for the next dose.

Some of the minor and temporary side effects that your child may experience while taking this medicine include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, rash, and headache. Usually, these episodes subside once your child's body adapts to the medicine. In case these effects persist or become bothersome for your child consult your child's doctor without any delay.

Let your child's doctor know in case your child is on any other medicine regime or has had any previous episodes of allergy, heart problems, blood disorders, birth defects, airway obstruction, lung anomaly, skin disorders, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. This information is critical for dose alterations and for planning the overall treatment of your child.

A dry cough is a cough where no phlegm or mucus is produced. It may cause a tickling sensation or itching in the throat and may be due to cold, flu, allergies or throat irritants. Altime CF Syrup suppresses severe dry cough and gives your child relief from an itchy throat. Along with medications, drinking lukewarm water and gargling with warm salt water may also help ease symptoms for your child.

Altime CF Syrup does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. Consult your child’s doctor if these side effects persist or bother your child. The most common side effects include-

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Altime CF Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Altime CF Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Ambroxol, dextromethorphan, and cetirizine which relieve dry cough. Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of the cough center in the brain. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing.

• Altime CF Syrup may make your child feel sleepy. Ensure your child takes extra care when taking part in physical activities.

• Never combine Altime CF Syrup with other cold and flu medicines as that may lead to side effects.

• Stop Altime CF Syrup and immediately report to the doctor if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties.

• Practice self-care tips:

  1. Clean and disinfect surfaces after sneezing and coughing to avoid allergy.
  2. Give your child plenty of fluids as it helps to thin and loosen the mucus in the lungs.
  3. Restrain your child from having dairy products, coffee, and foods that are spicy and fried. All these can trigger coughing.
  4. Make your child gargle with warm saltwater.
