How Allercool Eye Drop works

Allercool Eye Drop is a combination of seven medicines: Naphazoline, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Phenylephrine, Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, Boric Acid, Menthol and Camphor. Naphazoline and phenylephrine are decongestants which narrow the blood vessels of the eye to relieve inflammation (redness and swelling). Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which blocks the action of certain chemical messengers responsible for red, itchy, teary eyes. Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a lubricating formulation similar to natural tears. It provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort due to dryness in the eye. Boric acid is an antiseptic which treats bacterial infection in the eyes and relieves irritation. Menthol and camphor provide a cooling effect.

Quick tips

  • Allercool Eye Drop provides soothing relief from eye irritation due to allergy.
  • It should usually be used twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
  • In case the dropper tip gets contaminated, squeeze out two or three drops straightaway onto some tissue and rinse the tip with saltwater.
  • After applying Allercool Eye Drop, close your eyes, and place one finger at the corner of your eye. Apply gentle pressure for 1 to 2 minutes before opening your eyes. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
  • Avoid wearing contact lenses until your doctor advises you that it is suitable for you to wear your lenses again.
