Trypan Blue is used before eye examinations. It has tissue staining properties. Once injected, it stains the damaged cells of the eye. This helps the doctor in identifying problems with the cornea and diagnose certain eye diseases.

Trypan Blue must be administered by a healthcare professional in the hospital or in a clinical setting. You should not self administer this medicine at home. This injection is generally safe with little or no side effects.

However, if you experience any symptoms which you think may be due to this injection, please inform your doctor. Caution is advised for driving after administration of this injection if your eyes are not able to concentrate and react.
