Chlorhexidine Gluconate + Metronidazole is a combination of two medicines used in the treatment of mouth infection. It has antimicrobial action on the infection-causing microorganisms. It inhibits the growth of bacteria and helps in the rapid healing of the infection.

Chlorhexidine Gluconate + Metronidazole is strictly advised for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Apply it only on the affected areas of the mouth. It should not be used in excess amount and also avoid swallowing it. In case of accidental contact with your eyes, immediately rinse it off with plenty of water.

This medicine is generally safe but it may cause bitter taste and lead to stainings of your teeth, thus avoid using it for a long duration. If you experience any allergic reactions following the use of the medicine, inform your doctor without delay.

Metronidazole is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA.

• Chlorhexidine Gluconate + Metronidazole is given for the treatment of mouth infection and its associated symptoms such as ulcers and swelling in the gums.
• Avoid eating, drinking, or brushing your teeth just after using this medication.
• Do not use Chlorhexidine Gluconate + Metronidazole if you have deep oral ulcers or throat infections.
• Stop using this medicine and inform your doctor if any irritation occurs.
• If symptoms persist for more than seven days, consult your doctor.
• Along with using Chlorhexidine Gluconate + Metronidazole maintain good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth twice daily with a soft bristle brush.
• Have regular dental checkups at intervals recommended by your dentist (this is normally at least once a year).
